Ashton, Leigh and Wigan Community Healthcare is a new NHS trust, established after a four year development and assessment programme, in cooperation with the Department of Health and NHS North West.

We focus on community healthcare, which is the backbone of the NHS, and integration across the hospital-community-primary-social care continuum, and will expect you to share our passion for excellence and innovation.

We are aiming to achieve NHS Foundation Trust status in 2012 and your contribution to this will be of seminal importance.

In 2009 we were assessed as “Monitor ready” and have spent the past year consolidating, while neighbouring PCTs pondered their own Transforming Community Services solutions. As a consequence, we have won the contracts for Warrington, Halton & St Helens and an exciting network development for Community Dental Services in nine NW Boroughs, with others waiting in the wings to join us in 2011.

From 1st April, our turnover will be approximately £190m, with approximately 4000 staff spread over a significant footprint in the heart of the North West.

We have an established Board and Senior Management Team who are championing transformation in the NHS, eagerly awaiting the arrival of the right Director of Finance to help us steer our organisation to further success.
