Webuyanycar.com is the UK’s largest dedicated car buying service headquartered in Greater Manchester. The company was founded in 2006 by Noel and Darren McKee, experienced entrepreneurs within the automotive industry, after they identified a gap in the market for individuals to sell their car in an efficient, effective and safe way as an alternative to private sale or trade-in.
The company has experienced exceptional growth since its inception, moving into the van market with webuyanyvan.com in 2010, before expanding internationally into the United States in 2011 and the Netherlands in 2014. The company now has hundreds of branches worldwide, and a turnover in excess of $1 billion.
Watson Moore first worked with webuyanycar.com when we were engaged by the board to find a Commercial Head of Finance to work alongside the Group CFO. We had worked with the CFO previously when he was part of the Caudwell Group. This was a demanding assignment; webuyanycar.com wanted an exceptional candidate to grow with the business and the ability to take on a larger commercial/operational role in the future; culture fit in a fast moving entrepreneurial environment was paramount. Not only did we fulfil the brief but the successful candidate also had automotive experience.
Since then we have recruited a number of positions for webuyanycar.com, from graduate to Director, on a permanent and temporary basis. Our placements have been in both the core finance and commercial finance teams and include; Finance Graduate, Commercial Finance Analyst, Management Accountant, Finance Manager and Head of Finance.
