Job Title: Director of Finance & Informatics

  • Providing expert advice to the Trust Board and its Executive Team on all appropriate financial management, finance and business risk, statutory and technical accountancy, audit and other relevant matters, to enable the Trust to manage its financial resources effectively, and meet its statutory duties.
  • Supporting the Trust’s application to become and NHS Foundation Trust as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, providing strategic input to the Trust’s Service Development Strategy and Governance arrangements, and overseeing the internal/external financial modelling as part of the application and subsequent assessment processes.
  • Continuing development and implementation of Financial Strategies to ensure the Trust meets its statutory responsibilities and is responsive to changes required under the modernisation agenda and within the NHS Plan.
  • Developing comprehensive management information systems that can inform the Trust Board about the use of resources.



The successful candidate will possess the following skills, experience and attributes.

  • Fully professionally qualified Accountant with a strong track record of success in an NHS environment at Director or Deputy Director of Finance level or equivalent.
  • A strong leader who is able to manage, mentor and develop the finance and informatics teams to deliver the highest level of service.
  • Evidence of leading a high performance finance team and managing in a change orientated environment.
  • Ideally exposure to and involvement in a successful Foundation Trust application process.
