Job Description
- Providing expert advice to the Trust Board and its Executive Team on all appropriate financial management, finance and business risk, statutory and technical accountancy, audit and other relevant matters, to enable the Trust to manage its financial resources effectively, and meet its statutory duties.
- Develop and implement effective and innovative ways of producing information for budget holders, educating those who commit resources to promote the most effective use of resources in line with the needs of the service and with Service Line Management and Patient Led Care principles.
- Continuing development and implementation of Financial Strategies to ensure the Trust meets its statutory responsibilities and is responsive to changes required under the modernisation agenda and within the NHS Plan.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will possess the following skills, experience and attributes.
- Fully professionally qualified Accountant with a strong track record of success in an NHS environment at Director or Deputy Director of Finance level or equivalent.
- A strong leader who is able to manage, mentor and develop the finance team to deliver the highest level of service.
- Evidence of leading a high performance finance team and managing in a change orientated environment.
